the rose gold envelope

Got this as a graduation present last month.. I had my eye on it from when it came out. Esp because of the dull powder blue colour and big rose gold studs. I love the boldness of the studs, the soft detailing of the bag and the mirror to take sneaky peeks at :) Its chic with a rock n roll feel to it and easy to pair up with an afternoon or evening look... x x

the snapshot: vogue armenia

Arem Bedrossian does a phenomenal shoot once again, but this time its for Cosmopolitan Armenia. After flipping through the fairy-tale inspired feature I came across this shot. It reminds me of the tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland...except its more of an Alice gone wild dinner party. I like it because of the unusual composition and the perfect blend of colours. From the burgundy dress to the autumn leaves and dark wooden table...the excessive back combed blonde hair contrasts the frame making it more interesting... x x

'tis the season to be jolly

weekend accessories: silver tinsel headband & vintage gold-black striped envelope clutch
(late) merry xmas everyone!!! hope you had a smashing weekend.
we don't really celebrate xmas in pakistan with a bang but we try... do you like my puny xmas tree? it looks prettier with the fairy lights on, plus i stole the silver tinsel from it to make myself a headband as this weekend's accessory. i wore the sparkly grey/silver Zara sweater with Topshop harem pants and Carvela heels to our xmas fam dinner. i'm glad the razzle dazzle trend of sequences and embellishments isn't planning on fading away any time soon...x x

the 2 & 4 & cupcakes

the kids on the table next to ours were pretty destructive...
happy birthday to me!
As I mentioned before, December is my favourite month of the year. Not only because its holiday season and there are lots of festivities going on but also because its my birthday! :) I don't agree with those who don't like celebrating them and say 'you're only getting older'. Its the one day of the year where everything is and should be all about you!
Since my closest friends reside mainly in London and my hometown, Karachi and after Maliha insisted I celebrate it in both places, I did just that. Good food, fun music, bubbly and what's a birthday without cupcakes these days?
The black&white dress was a birthday present from my lovely flatmate... its from Topshop. I love it because of its plunging neck and back lines. I paired it with a black sequence bandeau top from Agent Provocateur (not that you can see much since my hair is all over the place, oops). Wore a golden, tribal necklace with this dress which i will put up soon this week, it deserves its own post as its fabuleux!
My birthday night was followed by my friend Alex's birthday party at which I wore a chiffon leopard print jumpsuit from Urban Outfitters. There's a little snippet of it in the pictures above. I recently bought it, and it might still be at the stores or online. If you're wanting to feel fun and sexy without being too daring on a night out, I say pick it up.

bright pastels much?

Colour-block patent leather sandals, Giuseppe Zanotti £470
if you want to turn heads, match these eye catching sandals with a monochrome outfit. this pair from Mr Zanotti's cruise collection remind me of Barbie...don't they?

the valerie

All that sparkles is not gold but definitely dazzling and glamorous like this Valerie glitter finish leather clutch by Anya Hindmarch. I wore it at my graduation ball and matched it with a beautiful bronze and cranberry silk dress by AFH.

versace x h&m

Did you manage to get any grabs? i didn't expect myself to stand in line before the 9am official opening at my nearby H&M store. Therefore, i took my laptop to class that morning to try my luck online. I had a feeling it'd be utterly chaotic and wasn't surprised when the UK website crashed. After hitting the refresh button for three straight hours I gave up and didn't bother going back to it due to my frustration. I just really wanted the golden choker necklace...
I walked past the H&M concession while galavanting throughout Selfridges last week in search for a graduation dress. My eyes immediately fell on a stack of Versace for H&M jewellery boxes...bingo! Unfortunately they were pieces of the men's jewellery and not women's. I bought one anyway to satisfy myself by having one item from one of the most popular collaborations ever done in fashion... x x

playlist 03/12/11

Its been way too long since I posted a playlist.. i mixed up this weekends list up. there's a few really good deep house tracks that I discovered last week, some electro and progressive... enjoy listening to these jams :)

we could still be here december

I'm not too sure where November went by, or infact this entire year. I checked my phone on the 1st and couldn't believe it was already December. Well, its my favourite month and I'm glad we're in it. Hope you've all gotten your xmas wishlists updated and ready...

A couple of snaps from Nov...

Gerald Laing & Amy Winehouse

I recently visited the Thomas Gibson Fine Art Gallery on Bruton Street to have a look at art work done by legendary British pop artist, Gerald Laing. Being a fan of pop art I was eager to see how he had immortalized his subject; Miss Winehouse.  Twenty percent of the earnings are going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The pictures below are of the few pieces that I liked..

The exhibition ends on the 11th of November, check it out before its over. 31 Bruton Street, London...xx

gold rush

I've recently dropped wearing a cluster of chunky bracelets and my knuckle duster rings by putting on a minimilistic front for a while... it all happened after i bought this gold plated watch from Michael Kors a couple of weeks ago. now i tend to match it with bold statement necklaces or simple ones like the two shown above

sunkissed

zara tshirt, top shop harem pants and bag, aldo ballet flats, michael kors watch, gucci sunglasses
i'm back to posting after a long three week period where i was busy with work for Ava Mirabelle. we launch this week and i hope you are as excited as i am. i bought this oversized shoulder tote bag from topshop two weeks ago and don't like leaving my house without it. i'm in love with the shade of taupe grey that its in. my new obsession this season is long strap shoulder bags and purses. the bags, like this one give me a sense of nostalgia and it reminds me of when i was in school. the purses; of the 80s, one of my favourite fashion decades.

i paired the bag with this loose fit, bright orange top, soft black harem pants and comfy flats. perhaps the weather had something to do with this relaxed look. what's better than sunshine in october? x x

a few days ago, Lisa and I walked over to blue bird cafe on kings road to grab a quick bite. before heading into the cafe we popped next door into the blue bird shop. we browsed through some of the new pieces that had arrived at the store when i came across a constructed section that show cased NAHM's new collection. the recently launched new york based fashion brand is known for its signature androgynous shirt-dresses outlined with feminine accents. keep an eye out for their online store that launches soon. x x
