Marc Jacobs S/S 11 Campaign

This campaign was shot backstage while the S/S 2011 collection was being shown on the runway. I like the vibrant colours used from the collection in this campaign shot, it has a youthful look to it. I wouldn't wear too  much colour in one outfit but I would definitely pair the trousers or top up with something neutral. The entire collection is full of desirable pieces in bright shades of pink, orange, red... my personal favourite is the 2nd runway look. I love the colour and the folds on the jumpsuit, and the option of choosing different styles of belts to wear with it. Perhaps a skinny beige belt?

Winter accessories are so much fun to play around with. As we head more towards the negatives we bring out our headgear and other winter essentials to keep warm. I love this faux-fur hat from Topshop because it allows one to look effortlessly chic. 

Ashish for Topshop

The King of Sequins, Ashish Gupta returns for his sixth collaboration with high-street brand Topshop. The collection includes two oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts with food images pasted across the front. The designer says he was inspired by his love for junk food. "...I was thinking of what I would like to wear to the gym, and I thought junk food on t-shirts and sweatshirts would be perfect! Perhaps not very motivational but, definitely very amusing!",  These items go on sale on the 12th of January 2011. They look comfortable, and I like the sundae one the best...but I definitely wouldn't wear it to the gym. What do you think of this collection?

Balmain Beauty

One of my favourite magazine covers for December 2010 was the Elle UK issue with Anne Hathaway on the cover, dazzling in the Balmain number. This dress was worn on seven magazine covers this year!!! Including  Natalia Vodianova for December Harper’s Bazaar and Abbey Lee Kershaw for Vogue Deutsch August. I'm in love it, being a fan of sequins and all things metallic. Her entire spread in the magazine is also pretty fabulous..  xx

Bags that look like books. I personally wouldn't buy one for myself but how interesting are these clutch bags? Designed by Olympia Le-Tan and showcased at Paris Fashion Week last year, these bags are hot on the red-carpet right now. The fashion designer designed twenty one bags for her line that are inspired by some of literature's classic first-edition covers. The rectangular clutch bags have a colourful base with intricate thread embroidery. Each design only has 16 pieces and is only available at Corso Como in Milan, Colette in Paris and Browns in London.

From the few cigarette pants I purchased at the beginning of autumn this pair is my favourite. They're from a vintage shop that I like spending the odd afternoon in. They accentuate the waist line since they are high-waisted and the detailed silver buttons and tie up bow adds femininity to these boyish trousers. I like the shorter length as it bares the ankles and pairing them up with sky-scraper heels makes them perfect for a night out.

Vogue UK came out with a list of 100 best buys for this Christmas! There's plenty of gift options to choose from for everyone, from clothing to accessories to macaroons! :) Macaroons are definitely on my never-ending list. I was procrastinating instead of studying in the library today and came across a webpage. Today was the last day to submit photos for the National Geographic's Photography Contest 2010. Images had to be related to Nature, Places and People. The photography is impressive and very inspiring. The photographs below are a few that I personally liked more than the several on the website. and when we stumble...

 This was taken at Hillside Park in New York a few months ago. The headband I'm wearing is one of the few I designed for my headband collection, Crimson which is part of the label Ava-Mirabelle started by my friend Maliha and I over the summer. Our new collection for S/S 2011 will be launched along with our website in January. I'll keep you posted! x x 

Lanvin for H&M

After months of patience the Lanvin for H&M collection launched worldwide at 200 selected stores and online earlier this week. Shopaholics and fashionistas queued up from the night before the launch took place. Hours after the store doors opened for the public the exquisite collection was sold out. The collection including menswear and womenswear screams ‘glamour’ with cocktail dresses in bright colours, floral prints, t-shirts, shoes, accessories, even bow ties...! This may have been the most anticipated launch out of all the collaborations H&M has done in the past and adds luxury to the high street brand. The promotional video that was released a few weeks prior to the launch created an extra hype. Pieces from the collection were auctioned at http://www.lanvinforhm.com/ and proceedings were given to UNICEF as part of H&M’s “All for children” project.
